The Perfect Environment to Learn
Class numbers are small with the parent accompanying their child until they are able to swim on a woggle unaided or move into the mainstream Academy swimming lessons. It is not necessary for the person accompanying the child to be able to swim. The instructor is in the pool for all baby and toddler classes and with inexperienced children in the Academy. Duration of classes are 30 minutes and have a carefully balanced set of activities including group and individual work, swimming, submersion, safety skills, floating, songs and games.
Moving Toward Confident, Independent Swimming
We do not use flotation seat, arms bands or jackets as they may encourage dependency and your child will be prevented from feeling their own buoyancy in the water.
With parent and child groups we give you the confidence to teach your little one life saving skills and techniques that may one day save their life. As your child’s confidence grows we encourage them to swim independently on woggles, experiencing the joys of the water. Once your child can swim confidently on the woggle unaided, usually around 3yrs old, they can, dependant on the individual childs needs, progress to an instructor only class. These classes are with an instructor and a helper. We care passionately about our programme and the needs of your child as an individual. Our aims and objectives are to help your child to become a confident, happy and independent swimmer.
Swimming keeps the body fit and healthy, and helps fight the
health risks of childhood obesity and an inactive lifestyle. Children
who keep active tend to do better
academically too.
