Sybil an inspiration to us all & a big thank you to Swimkidz

We received this email today which brought a tear to my eye.

Thanks for your lovely words and your story Emma, Sybil has done amazing and is such a strong little girl.

“We started with SwimKidz in November 2022 when our daughter was only 15 weeks old. It was great, daddy got to spend time with his daughter doing his thing, swimming. In February 2023 we had the awful news that our little girl had had a stroke at just 6 months old! It was a complete shock, we never would have imagined something like this would have happened to us, as any parent would I guess. The SwimKidz team were amazing, they kept in contact with us and sent messages of support whilst we were in hospital and unable to attend classes. We also had messages and gifts from the lovely group our daughter swims with, we have made some great friends as a result of attending these lessons, both as parents and our little girl, which has been a huge support.

As soon as our little girl was allowed back in the pool we were straight there, we hadn’t even been discharged from hospital! We were super nervous about getting back in the pool with her, she had lost so much mobility due to the stroke and just wanted to wrap her in cotton wool and keep her safe. The team were amazing again, supporting us through lessons and understanding that our little girl had some restrictions with her mobility and wouldn’t be able to do everything the other children could do. They helped us build our confidence with her again and now she is doing amazing. Her mobility has come on leaps and bounds and the swimming has really helped with that. We are very thankful to SwimKidz and to all the friends we have made through attending lessons for their kindness and support.”
